Man stabbed to death at birthday party

Police have charged one man and plan on arresting others in the stabbing death of a Lenoir man at a birthday party early Sunday, authorities said.

Travis Renard Richardson, 37, of Lenoir was the first to be charged in the death of 36-year-old Cleveland Darrin Mitchell, who was stabbed in the chest when an argument broke out during the party, Lenoir police said.

Richardson was charged with accessory after the fact of murder, accused of tampering with evidence related to the stabbing, police said.

People at the party, being held at Richardson's home, had been drinking when at least two people got into a fight and Mitchell was stabbed, police said. He was taken to Caldwell Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Richardson was scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday and was being held at the Caldwell County jail on a $250,000 bond.

Three Britons to be released from Guantanamo Bay

With all that is going on in the War on Terror; at Guantanamo, the Americans would rather release these “innocent" people, if they could be proven non-combatants'.

If they say they are a threat to Society at large why should I disbelieve them?

Because Big, Bad America (Bush) or it's faithful poodle say's they're wrong un's they must be innocent?? - seems to be the doubter, anti-war and quislings response, over and over again. If locking up 500 of them stops wholesale slaughter, No worries – five of em could be innocent?? So what?! That won't bring about the end of Western society.

If it stops them wanting to live here then it would be an added bonus.

Just because these Terrorists have domiciled in the UK At some point of their existence shouldn't mean we have to bleat for them and beg to have them released to seek refuge in this country.

Nuclear Waste: Not a Problem

Six decades ago the birth of nuclear power was praised for lowering the volume of waste products by a factor of 10,000,000. As Petr Beckmann pointed out in his classic The Health Hazards of NOT Going Nuclear, the nuclear wastes for an individual for a year is about the size of an aspirin tablet — a minuscule price to pay for inexpensive, reliable, safe electrical power. Yet when nuclear power is mentioned as a clean alternative today, the problem of wastes invariably arises. .

Single women buying homes more frequently

Only 29 per cent of poll respondents cited marriage as a potential reason to sell their home, with trading up to a better home being the most popular answer at 50 per cent.

So just what influence is this influx of women having on the market? An increasing demand for downtown condominium units for one thing, Mr. Soper said. Real estate agents are also having to fine tune their training to accommodate better prepared and more demanding female buyers, he added.

Women are also becoming more likely to tackle 'fixer-uppers,' leading to new marketing efforts by renovation centres including The Home Depot and RONA, and tool companies such as Fixit Chicks and Tomboy Tools, Mr. Soper said.
